Microgard MGL51040 2000 Buick Lesabre Supertech synthetic HM 10w30 3k.

Filter looks to be Purolator made. Mostly highway but some in town/idling in the summer heat. This car is my daily driver right at 203,000 miles. Filter held up well I've got a red Purlator in my stash for next time. Same oil went back in with a Fram Toughguard.

    Kohler 52 050 02 vs Stuper Tech 3614

Yes the MP design is the newer design with metal caps and poppet bypass and Silicone anti drain back valve. Rated for 20k according to the box. The ST is still the one pictured above rated for 10k according to packaging.

    Kohler 52 050 02 vs Stuper Tech 3614

My local Walmart has both. Still hoping for an MP 3387 for my GM vehicles

    Kohler 52 050 02 vs Stuper Tech 3614

I know this has been discussed before but I wanted to find out first hand and they are the exact same thing. The Kohler media was a little tighter packed but not enough to justify the price difference.

    Virgin Purolator L10241 C&P

🤔 interesting. Yes this crosses to an FL 910S so they are very similar.

Me to I would feel better about a metal crimp on that seam. I've got a Puro made microgard on my Buick Lesabre I'll cut and post next change to see.

I was curious of the current build of regular red Purolators.

2001 Buick LeSabre 3.8L 3800 Series II Unknown OCI & Oil

I know this thread is pretty old but I've got a 2000 Lesabre that turned over 200k. It's been through 2 of those plastic upper intakes and lowers changed with them as well. Well know problem on the series 2 definitely worth a proper fix with that low of mileage.

Fram "Drive" filters are the Ecore ones these are the equivalent of a tough guard I think.

    Supertech ST2 vs Supertech MP2

It's the same exact filter just the MP is built a little tougher. Not sure how they are rolling these out so maybe they havent updated the results. I wouldn't be afraid to run it on anything requiring a 3614

Valvoline VO-25 cut open 10.5K Miles

Everyone loves to hate on Ecores but that is a pretty solid filter. Definitely wouldn't run one that long though.

    Which oil filter

Honestly if you aren't doing crazy long OCIs any filter is gonna perform well. Even the lowly Orange can Fram. I like Super tech myself

    Supertech ST2 vs Supertech MP2

They do start with MP but dont seem to cover the whole line of filters yet. I've been looking for the 338A version for my GM vehicles but no luck. Did find the MP 3614 for my wife's Fusion and Kohler lawn mower engine though. They do but I dont think they cover the entire line of filters yet...

    Anyone using Pennzoil "GOLD" blend

Currently running it in my 2012 Silverado with the 4.3 v6. For the price it's gonna get that from now on.
