From what can be seen after cut-open, Purflux, Knecht, Bosch, Mann are among best designed and having stout filtering media
I used them many times before
Now on Alco filter I can hear vvt-i rattle more often on acceleration, could be because of filter limiting oil flow
All that low or mid saps buzz is about protecting dpf from oil leaking into exhaust
If your engine eats hardly the oil or dpf is absent, use full saps with no worries
MB calls for mid saps 0.8% so 1.0% is almost perfect
Hi there
Have got almost the same engine but 1.3l and 2007
Give her full saps oil and it will do for 15000 kms as the manual says
Look for quality filter and change it every time oil is changed
If shifting gears gets worse change trans oil, 75w80 gl4 for french cars will do
Have you got dpf?
Cleaning it out requires extra fuel to be injected and eventually burned in dpf.
It also causes high oil level.
Typical for city driving.
I'll bet XOM asked a question:
how much worth is your time wasted on oil change 2x a year
$30
Okay add $20 for average dose of oil it makes $50
We'll sell you it bundled for $30
Oil + (time + no second oil ) = $50
Yup, just using Formula Ford
Prior to 5w20 era It's been one fits all oil for diesel and gas fords here in EU, turbos and non-turbos.
Since 90's
It is marketed by BP = Castrol
It's still acceptable in most current eu fords when 5w20 is not available
It's all about marketing
Deutschland loves M1 0w40 just take a look ar their forums
So Castrol has to follow the trend
In Poland there has been massive advertising on Edge
And Magnatec has bad reputation because of sludge issues in the past
10w40 for Hu? Maybe mild winters out there?
Once I owned 1997 Chrysler Stratus 2.5 v6 with A604 tranny
I had read many horror stories on issues with that gearbox prior to purchase
When I got the car, the trans fluid was yellow instead of red and there was lot of jiggle when shifting between N,1 and 2
I kept on changing trans fluid every 2...
Hi
The 75w oil I'm using is 6,7 @100C or 212F while typical 75w90 is 15
My Yaris manual says using thicker oil may harm mpgs but there is no word about more wear etc
