Anyone else here driving something with CNG?

About 120 of the buses at the depot I work out of are fuelled by CNG, and will be progressively replaced in the next 2-5yrs (by Volvos - diesels presently but that could change). They're lean-burn, so need a lot of upkeep with the ignition to stay running nicely. The turbos in these...

Running higher than recommended octane fuel

Something that has sprang to mind recently with the premium vs regular petrol debate... If people are noticing improved fuel economy, does this stem from the ignition advance improving such that drivers aren't driving around with the accelerator floorboarded and can instead make do with less...

BITOG forum software upgrade tomorrow morning

Aside from my prior gripe about the layout, the only real complaint I have is about the size of the text on the forum homepage (i.e. where you can scroll to access the various sub-forums). It seems like the font and size of the text has drastically increased, as has the space between each forum...

BITOG forum software upgrade tomorrow morning

Will have to evaluate on a newer version of Chrome than Version 49.0.2623.112 that runs on my OS X 10.6.8 installation on the Macbook Pro (I dual-boot Sierra, but can't let Snow Leopard go because of the simple, no-nonsense GUI). First impressions of the forum UI on this decrepit Chrome install...

Anyone having to use premium when not called for?

Yup, BMW 320i in my sig calls for mid-grade (i.e. 95RON) petrol but gets a steady diet of 98RON (BP Ultimate) to help with pinging. Two new knock sensors, which helped for a time, but gradually worsened again, might have to double-check that they're secured properly and do a ECU reset... Also...

    Let's talk Renault

Perth had Renaults... The last one disappeared only recently, after about 29yrs service. http://perthbus.info/image.php?image=132698720F26 But perhaps this isn't quite what we're on about in this discussion Very peculiar setup particularly regarding brakes; the spring-brake in particular has...

    Careers advice for Teenagers.

It wasn't all that long ago I was in Year 10. At the time I had aspirations of being a pilot, or a doctor. That changed very quickly in Yr11 when I realised my mathematics and chemistry skills were, uhh, lacking. Took Economics because I needed to fill a gap in my studies in my final years in...

    Penrite Vantage

Of interest, given we're on the Semi/Fully-synthetic discussion bandwagon here presently - Supercheap have 5L bottles of Helix HX7 10w40 for just $19.75. And a 10L of Engine Armour 10w40 for under $30. Not bad!
