My 2015 Ford F-150 with naturally aspirated V6 calls for 5W-20 synthetic blend or synthetic. I used full synthetic Mobil 1 5W-20 for a while and it just seemed too thin. I tried the same thing, except in a 5w30, and it seems like it does better.

What fuel you use has absolutely nothing to do with the oil filter. Or fuel filter, unless the vehicle has used alcohol free gasoline for a number of years, and you just switched to an ethanol blend, then you may need to change the fuel filter sooner due to the ethanol dissolving/breaking free...

For 4-stroke engines Top Tier E10 would be my preference over alcohol-free non-Top-Tier gasoline. For a 2-cycle which depends on a fuel and oil mixture to lubricate the engine, I would seek alcohol-free fuel if it was available to me and not too outrageously overpriced. Just my two cents.

Here in Okla. we have stations around that sell alcohol-free gasoline. I only use it in my 2-cycles because of the whole fuel is your lubricant thing. I get the significantly cheaper ethanol blends for everything else. I will say I’ve used the premixed 40:1 and it works great. Not worth the...
