why change oil on low mileage car consuming oil

The qsud is what I use in my dodge ram, I haven't tried it in the dart yet. Normally I dont like to switch brands but with the 2.4 burning oil like it was I changed my mind

why change oil on low mileage car consuming oil

I would try a different brand of oil if I were you. I have a 2016 dart that has the same 2.4 tigershark engine and it also burns oil. I have tried 4 different oils running two changes back to back and my results are Pennzoil platinum 0w20- 1 quart every 2500 miles Pennzoil gold 0w20- 1 quart...

Oil alternative for the 2.4L Multi-Air

Gumbyjarvis I experienced the same thing with my dart 2.4. Was using pennzoil platinum 0w20 and it would use about 1-1.5 quarts in 5,000 miles. Switched to schaeffer's 0w20 and in 5,000 miles it uses maybe a 1/4 of a quart. I'm not saying pennzoil platinum is a bad oil but it wont hurt to try a...

Shell gas truck compared to Quaker state

I know he's asking about 5w30 but qsud 5w20 to me seems to have a little better additive pack. More zinc, phosphorus and moly

Pure observation, what sells best where you frequent? Syn or Convl

My local Walmarts (3 within 40 miles of me) sell lots of pennzoil and Quaker state, both synthetic and conventional. I too am always curious so I walk by the oil every time I'm there. The racks for Quaker state synthetic 0w20 and 5w20 are almost always empty. I'm in the central part of Nebraska

0w20 vs 0/5w30 (yes I know another viscosity thread)

Depends on the brand. Redline in this case is 3.0 for 5w20 and 2.9 for 0w20

    Phillips 66 Shield Choice

Yea the api sn plus is why I decided to get it. Its gotta be good if it has that certification. Does anyone know if there is a limit on noack with the sn plus? Or is that just a dexos thing. Not worried about it, just curious. Phillip's 66 doesn't have it listed on the data sheet

That's good to hear. I tried that trop arctic a few years ago in my old dodge neon I drove for work and it would burn it like crazy, but that could of been the high miles. I'm not too worried about this in my wife's car as I've read the 3.6 pentastar is easy on oil.

Just curious if anyone has used this oil? I havent seen much talk about it. Anyway I changed oil in my wife's Chrysler 200 3.6 today and started in on my stash of Phillips 66. I picked it up last summer at my local orscheln farm store on sale for 1.99 a quart. I was a little hesitant on getting...
