What oil filter are you using on your Ford 4.2 V6?

In my 99 4.2 I used M1 filters. Tried one supertech, brain fade, and I started getting start up noise so I went back to M1 and all was quite.

I have always used FL400S, well one time I used a Fram ToughGard and it worked well enough?

FL400A is the old, pre silicone ADBV filter. I use the FL-400S on my Thunderbird SC. I think it's a pretty darn good filter.

I'm going to be using the FL-400S on my sister's ZX2 (obviously not a 4.2 V6, but it uses the same size filter). It seems to be the best bang for the buck. I have one Purolator Classic as well, that I got as part of one of their oil change specials. The Motorcraft has a different bypass setup and a silicone ADBV rather than the nitrile that comes with the Purolator Classic. The kicker is that the Classic actually costs more!

$3 & change at Wally's...
The FL400 is just about unbeatable...
For a bunch of stuff.
We even use 'em on Briggs/Stratton & Kohler tractor engines!!
