Forgot the date code for this sample. It is X18A6 5371, which is January 18, 2006 (I also checked with a black light.) The second letter stands for the month and the digits befor the letter give the day of the month, the 6 after the A is for 2006

Yes, the SL is probably better if you can find it, I just wanted to let people know what one sample of the SM looks like.

I found an old VOA from Blackstone (which is where my VOA was done) from Aug 03, so a comparison from the same lab can be done, I am not sure when the oils changed over to SM.

Big difference in flashpoint, Moly, B, Ca, P, Zn, the old stuff looks good to me, but I will keep you updated on how the new stuff looks in my Prius on the UOA forum. Should be rreaching 5000 miles pretty soon, I plan to sample and keep iit going for 10000 at least, things looked ok at 2400.

Better format. I learned the code trick.

This was the best oil in terms of smoothness that I've used. (SL version). I'd like to try the new Havoline 5w-20 8.0 cSt oil.

I've still got 5 qts of the old SL 0w-20 in the garage. I don't have anything to run them in now that I don't have my Ford?

I would think this oil would be fine in the 06 Civic and you would probably get better gas mileage than a xW30.

Yes. I posted that before my Sentra was totaled. Now that I have the Civic and it specs 5w-20, the M1 SL 0w-20 is going in next!

Funny how things work out
