Need some help. Forgot what part number for the oil filter is on a purolator or AC Delco for a '93 GMC 4.3l V6. Long filter, not the shorter one. Hate to ask the front desk since they never seem to have the books around and I hate those dam^ little LCD screens with all those buttons you have to push to get to your vehicle.

thanks.

Purolator L24011 (or PL24011 for the PureOne)
AC Delco PF52

When I buy mine from GM (keep in mind I have a 2000 4.3L not a 93 like the original poster), they provide me with an AC Delco PF-52C instead of a PF-52. Does the "C" indicate something different about my filter?

PF52 or UPF52

A 2000 Chevy 1500 with 4.3L V6 uses a PF47

Per AC Delco the PG52C does not exist.

Assuming you were replying to my post and you made a typo (PG52C should have been PF52C), here is the oil filter the GM Dealer provides to me:

So, the PF52C does exist, I'm just not sure what the C stands for. Could it be a Canadian model?

Yep, the C stands for Canada I believe, and these filters are made by Dana in Cambridge, ON, the same guys who make Wix, NAPA Gold, Carquest premium and Kralinator. But the AC Delco gets a different media and doesn't get a silicone ADBV, it's nitrile instead.

I did not make the typo, it was the keyboards fault.

I overlooked the fact you were in Canada. That number does not show up in US catalogs. You must be special.

Most likely cheaper to build the filters up there then to do it here and ship it. Probably just a carbon copy of the PF 52.

Neato on the

PF-52C

Next time I am visiting my canadian family up there I will snag a couple of them.

My GM was built in St. Therese, Quebec...lol so I guess that makes her French, Canadien

However, as a counterpoint, when I got the car showroom new I do not remember it having a "white" AC Delco filter. It was the "standard" domestic United States "blue" unit.

hmmmm???
