wix 57356 oil filter

I did look on the web

- does this filter have the new style wix combo adbv?

- if not, is the old style valve silicone or nitrile material

I had a bad start up rattle yesterday morning, but not his morning on a 57356 that had 2000 miles on it

Just happen to have a Napa Gold 7356 (same as Wix) in my stash now. They now have a silicone adbv, and the one I have has a dome end bypass. However, my daughter's 01 Civic recently had a newer 7356 installed by an indy, when I examined down the center tube, it now has a thread end bypass. So based on that, it appears the 7356 is back to the 1356 adbv and bypass configuration with a different base plate. But no, no combo valve used in these.

did both filters have silicone? and what color is the silicone valve?

Yes both have red silicone adbvs. Originally when the 7356 came out it had a black nitrile adbv, but they have now been upgraded. But, if I was purchasing I'd confirm that it's now silicone as perhaps there are some older filters still in the system.
