Another very satisfactory PL14610 on a Civic, done in 3 months. Nothing surprising, typical in my experience with this filter. Honestly almost ran it twice, but local Honda dealer had a $10 OC special, so let them install one those very efficient A-02,

(sarcasm) but couldn't pass on the price. Based on this may possibly run the PL14610 currently on my 3.0L Accord twice.

Specs: 51 pleats excluding metal joining pleat, each 7/16" deep, 2&7/16" wide (endcap-endcap). Total media area ~109sq. in.

Umm, good question. I believe with the exception of my first dissection pic posting which was an AAP Total Grip 7317 and PL14610 next to each other, I've tried to give the pleat count and other information I provided here. Don't have it on a spread sheet or anything like that, but if I go back to the thread I can find the information. I've always given the oci/fci. Last one I did was a BD+ 3323, which looks identical but has one more pleat. Even looking at the seam area though, it's impossible for me to see the difference.

BD+ 13.5K oci

Yep not saying it can't happen, obviously it can. I've just never had an issue with the PL14610 or it's variants like the AAP Total Grip.

One of the reasons I had considered running two ocis in the Civic, as the miles/time frame show, it is seeing a majority commuter highway miles now. But, pleased with the ROI of this PL14610 nonetheless. Based on the dissection pics while it 'could' have been run longer, 7800 on a P1 with these results is very respectable.

The US made Bosch Prem. with the exception of the can, no texture and black nitrile gasket, is the same filter as P1. If first letter on stamped BP dome code says 'F' which is likely, made in the same plant as P1 in Fayetteville, NC.

thanks for the pics. I have run these on my Honda. they seem to be built pretty well.

+1 Totally agree regarding "not much to filter in a clean engine".

Have used P1's...ever since I purchaswd my 03'Ford Focus (5 yrs.)...and used the for 7500 OCI's....i I was ell pleased with the results (one of the 'best bangs for the buck for mid-tier filters)....and yes...I have a clean engine that is easy on oil.

BUT....after reading much on this forum regarding the Fram ULTRA...I decided to switch...and I'll be using the ULTRA for 2 OCI's...of 7500 miles.

Since the ULTRA only costs $8.97 at WM....my cost per OC is under $4.50....and I believe the Ultra is superior to many long OC filters...and a bargin as well.

Great looking filter, I've been using the P1 for the last 4 or 5 years; switched from the M1 filters, which were also good.

I looked at a couple of the 14610's recently and the inlet? holes appeared very much smaller than the one above. Are they made by diff mfgs perhaps that would do this?

^^^^^Base plate, inlet hole design/shape, number and size have been the same as long as I can remember for the PL/L14610. In fact, the BD+ 3323 linked on the previous page uses the same inlet hole design. Same goes for the Bosch Prem. 3323. All are made by Purolator.
