Interesting. A 2L Turbo running a 10W-60. What are the recommended viscosities?

Why did it need new bearings so early in the engine life? Was the turbo still OK?

Not a bad UOA, but I know nothing of this oil or engine.

10w40 or 15w40 is the recommended viscosity in the owners manual. Selenia Racing 10w60 rightly or wrongly is quite popular. It is an optional "upgrade" spec for a lot of newer Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo cars.

The engine is fine, turbo is fine. These are strong engines but their achilles heel seems to be the big end bearings. Cam wear is also a problem. The bearings in this engine turned out of be shot at 116k miles. It was the first thing I checked when I bought the car

Cool. I would stick with 10W-40, but that oil appears to be fine.

I need to learn the small Fiat 1.4L Turbo engine here. Do you know anything about that engine?

I assume you are referring to the Fiat 500 engine. I've only delt with the older engines. 500 1.4 is based on the Fiat FIRE series.

What do you want to know? Fiat have a good history of small petrol Turbo engines. I'd expect no less from this one. It's been around since 2006 so should be refined by now

Supercity how much was the test and was it easy to arrange?
