On a side note the Scion FR-S is mentioned as a 2013 model.

Ooo. Very nice! What I'm interested in is why the Tacoma 4.0 still states 5-30 while the Tundra with the same engine went to 0-20 and a larger sump.

...And conventional oil only?! I guess I'm in trouble.

I like the chart for my motorcycle. You can use many oils from SAE30 - 20w-50 depending on outside temperatures.

Why would they specify for some applications a non-synthetic oil only?

It is an oil fill chart, meant to be used by people servicing the cars. They probably list them as conventional only, as not to not cause so much confusion.
