So it's easy to see from above, why I have decided to change the filter every oil change. I have seen by-pass systems that had worse particle counts than the EAO has shown.

I don't know Tempest, but I am thinking that the ISO code for the SSO is very low, what with the new Amsoil filtration system. Perhaps Pablo will break his silence and give us an insight.

Here's the latest ISO oil cleanliness code for my 1993 Civic.
SSO 0W-30 and a EAO20 filter. 255,335 miles on car, 3,102 miles on oil.

I am thinking about testing the M1 oil filter next time to see what the ISO code is and how it compares to the EAO filter.

That was an interesting read, thank you Pablo. I noticed the engine tested was pretty low in mileage.
My engine has 256,000 miles on it and well broken in.
I like to experiment with things so I will see how a M1 filter fares vs the Amsoil offering. I am curious to see what if any difference there is in my engine. I think it's safe to say all engines are different in how they respond to oil and filters.
This will take a while, but it is something to look forward to.
