Pretty stuffed in there.
It goes:
USB 3.0 card in the top slot.
Modified Creative X-Fi Platinium
XFX 6950 2GB w/ 6970 BIOS
Geforce GT 520 w/ passive cooler (the side fan does plenty well and is one less thing to break)
Slot hole taken by eSATA plate; PCI slot blocked by GT 520 cooler anyway.
Highpoint 3510 RAID controller

Right side

[censored] it. I just put that ceiling fan in a few days ago. A Bitfenix Spectre Pro 230mm. Well, I just stuffed a flashlight into it and blew out two blades. Still works though, just vibrates. Bearings dont like it, Im sure. Just have to roll with it until a new one arrives I guess.

4Ghz
Turns out 4GHz is all I can get off this particular chip at reasonable voltage levels. At this point I was already at 1.39 vcore. If I put it under water I could probably get 4.2-4.3? This particular example just isnt a very good clocker.
Still, I got 79ish Gflops out of it. I was getting just under 50Gflops out of my 4GHz 920, so it is more than 1.5x the power.
In theory.
I should note, those temps are 'under duress.' I unplugged the side fan and the puller fan on the cpu cooler (top fan); then I laid a cd case on top of it. So it just had the pusher and the rear fan.
Did pretty well for nearly 180W. I noticed the rear fan actually started pulling hot air out after I did this, so it seems to be able to help take up slack in a failure.
Another interesting thing I noticed was, while I was playing around with unplugging a cpu fan I ran just the puller and had the pusher unplugged. This actually ran cooler by 2-3C vs just the pusher. I didnt have the CD case blocking it at this point though. This requires further testing. I had been running with the assumption that pushing air through a cooler would run cooler vs pulling air through it.
Anyway, with it setup the way it normally runs, max temperatures under this stress is in the 70-75C range.

Well, the latest upgrade was the new router.

But besides that, my most recent upgrade was to my iMac.

I added two 4gb RAM cards from OtherWorldComputing.com to it, in addition to the stock two 2gb cards. Giving me a total of 12gb of RAM.

Fast does not even begin to explain how this thing rocks. Photo editing in lightroom and video editing is insanely quick.

However, me being like I am, I plan on upgrading the stock cards to two 4gb cards giving me a total of 16gb of RAM.

Once the next gen iMacs come out, I'm going to pick up the i7 ivy bridge. Then I'll up that unit to 32gb of RAM.

I was getting 115GFlop with IBT

your setup should be higher.

edit: just got 107GFlop with about 10 things going on in the background. That I didnt shutdown.

I used the default settings for IBT

IBT.

Gulftown has a lower IPC than SB. Its scaled pefectly with my old Bloomfield. 1.5x the cores and 1.6x the performance.

Intel Burn Test. Don't mind the temps, those are really high for this test for me, only because we don't have the A/C running and ambient temp is already 80f or so. Sandy Bridge ftw

Just ordered:

Intel Core i3-2100 Sandy Bridge 3.1Ghz

GigaByte GA-Z77-DS3H and

G.SKILL Ripjaws X 8GB DDR3 1600 kit

This is replacing an Athlon 64 3700 on a ASUS A8N5X with 2gb of DDR 400. Should be a good upgrade! I'd post pics but it's nothing most of you haven't seen before.

Next up? SSD's. It was *really* hard not to order them with this stuff, but I'm trying to wait for a hard drive failure. These Western Digital's just won't die!

I replaced the HD's in my laptop and my "play" home system with SSD's. These made an astonishing jump in performance, especially on the laptop (C2Duo), less so on the home i5 box.

Also installed 32GB of RAM on the home box. The 'egg had a sale on DDR3 awhile ago, 2 x 8GB sticks for $89, so I bought a bunch and only just now installed them. It's just insane...

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
smile

upgrading FROM:
Netgear WNDR3700v2 w/dd-wrt
2x XFX Radeon 5770 (1GB) in crossfire
Corsair H50 watercooling kit

Full system specs for refresher
Intel Core i5-2500k OC 4.3Ghz
8GB (2x4) Corsair XMS3 DDR3-1333
ASUS P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3 Motherboard
XFX Double Dissipation Radeon HD 7850 OC
Crucial m4 64GB SSD Boot
WD 1TB Green (Storage), WD 640GB blue (Games)
XFX 650W Pro Modular 80PLUS Bronze PSU
Fractal Design Define R3 case

So far, so good. Got everything set up and hooked up and it works perfectly. I especially like the newfound 5Ghz range with the new N66U. laugh

Also, I have to post this just because lol

Note that the 7850 is overclocked to 1050Mhz core (860 Stock) and 5.4Ghz Memory clock. Better than 7870 and 6970 for $250, can't really be beat.

Going to revive a old thread!

No PC upgrades yet just the network..

In TL-WDR4300 (Don't pay attention to the house long-term project!)

Replaced a old Linksys WRT45G. Nothing wrong it didn't support "N" or have a gig network connection. The difference is more than I would of thought. Also added a TrendNet 8 port gigabit switch about a month ago. Really helped the WD NAS 2TB that only averaged 5-6 over a standard 100Mb connection. Now it's 10 average on our clients with 100Mb connections.. no gig cards yet. Now thinking about computer upgrades.. our newest which is laptop was purchased in 2009.
