How many quarts of transmission fluid (total capacity) does a 2005 Grand Caravan hold? Not listed in my owner's manual. Also, 250 miles into a trip, I checked the tranny fluid. It was barely warm to touch. I do have a tranny cooler that I added on and the outside temp was in the 30's. Would this keep the tranny fluid from getting warm?

I dont know that you can base ATF fluid temp by checking the dipstick.

And Id kind of be happy if it was cooler. A cooler without a thermostat sure could make it much slower to warm the fluid, especially when its cold out.

Amsoil's website can give you the exact amount. There were several motors offered so I can't tell you right away.

I checked my '05 factory service manual and they list capacities as:

This is from chapter 1, Lubrication and Maintenance- Fluid Capacities.

I could find no other capacities in the transaxle service section, nor did I see any reference to engine types (capacity differences).

Your system should hold more if you have an add-on cooler. I always recommend confirming any information on your own.
