This is my first run with SuperTech.
The wear metals look good and the TBN held up well for 8,000 miles.

I filled the bike with Delvac 15W40 this time.

That ST 15W-40 is re-badged Mobil Delvac - you can tell by the Ca/Mg values.

For 8k on a bike, pretty darn good, and probably cheap, too!

They got too carried away with the amount of moly in the red line oil. That's why it shows high lead. It tends to corrode the bearings slightly when they use too much. It seems anytime an oil has more than about 200ppm moly it shows either high copper or high lead. I'd stick with the rotella or super tech or any other normal diesel oil. The lead isn't that far out of line so don't get all freaked out. Im just telling you if your wondering where it came from. I agree with addyguy. It looks like delvac. It can't be delo400 because they use around 100ppm moly. I didn't know you could put so many miles on a motorcycle? That's amazing!

Comparing this 8K mile run to the 4K mile run on Redline makes it fairly obvious that 15w-40 HDEO is very good value and protection for your bike.

Jim, the HDEOs are a great value but the Redline was in the bike for 12,000 miles total. I ran it 8,000 miles and took a sample but did not change it. Then I ran it for 4,000 more miles for a total of 12,000 miles.

i think the ST results speak for itself. at least in your bike.

no reason to complain at all!

A pretty good report. It took me a while, but I finally did a run with ST.

Good Report!

Been running SuperTech or Delvac 15W40, depending on best deal found, in four motorcycles, 87 Toyota pickup, and 93 Miata.

The ST filter in your bike did a good job, too.

Looking for ST 15W40 last night at Walmarte', but there were not any quart or gallon bottles left on the shelf. Ended up buying a two gallon bottle of ST 15W40 for around $21.

Thanks for posting the report!

I stand corrected.

In any case, we can say two things.

1. Rotella is a good oil for bikes that need an oil of this viscosity and a JASO MA rating.

2. ST1100's are easy on oil.

883ppm is very low calcium for a diesil oil, that's unusual.

Somewhat. The magnesium level is higher than usually seen, though.

I'm not sure that I agree that this is definitely rebadged Delvac, as I've seen similar numbers from CJ-4 WPP Super Tech.

my tests show that if ST is delvac, then ST is getting the better lot and xom is selling the c r a p version!

susvis of 75.0 vs 69.8 for same use time.

They do have very, very similar additive levels.
