The oil was in service a little over a year. The miles were just under 10k. Winter gave it a good workout with not so much short trips, but higher fuel usage without miles on the odometer. We had some decent blizzards this year. I have a sample at Blackstone, but the postal fairy may have tagged it to show that they're doing their job by putting it in quarantine.

Oil: Bruce's 0w-10 Stealth formula
Filter: EaO 42
Miles on vehicle: 87867
Miles on oil: 9800+/-
Make up oil: 32oz. 16oz for 5k sampling. Quart added @ 7500 where 16oz of oil was consumed.

looks good could have gone 12,15,000?,how did this blend perform this winter must have been nice on them cold day's?

insolubles?

thats what gary wanted low vis, non shearing Virgin vis is about same as 10K maybe gary can postb that

In the original post the first two numbers are 5k/10k from Bruce. The 3rd number is 10k from Dyson. I didn't do a 5k with Terry due to too thin a wallet. I knew that this would make 10k easy enough.

Here's OA/Analyst/B-St @ 5k That was in September of last year.

I'd say it stayed rock solid over the 10k.

But what we're all really interested in is just what was that Stealth polymer?? (honest, folks, he's never told me

I of the current belief that my engine/fuel system/combustion process just produces too many acid compounds.

I think this engine just isn't cut out for much beyond 8k. While this isn't a bad showing by any means (outstanding, imo), the onset of consumption @ 7500 just tells me that something is unright.

I speculate that the Fe would have tracked a bit more with miles instead of doubling in indication for the 2nd 5k if I had tested at 7k-8k. The TAN, while not severe, was probably doing some minor acid etching.

This is not the best platform to run this type of lube. That said, it did an amazing job.

I'll post Blackstone's UOA for comparison and insolubles when they do it. It should have been there about a week ago. That postal fairly must thank me for providing such low hanging fruit.

Not bad results, Gary, but I DON"T like how iron more than doubled in the last 5k.

I know it went though winter, and all other metals are amazing, but could it be that the very thin oil didn't protect the cylinders and valvtrain from 'scuffing' as much as it should have?

Are you still running this oil?

I was hoping for it to track mileage a bit more. I imagine it would have tracked fuel pretty close. Over the winter the fuel economy was 15+/- while during the other half it's 17`20 depending on how you fuel squeeze.

RTS over the same time/mile span did about the same. The exception being that it didn't get a 5k/6month UOA.

The far one on the right is RTS for 13 months and around 9k. Granted it had other issues with fuel and whatnot.

Yes. I haven't changed it yet (injury), but it's on occasional duty right now. I'm pretty sure I have more than enough for another sump. I've also got some of Bruce's original mega dose formula left. Beyond that, I don't know if Bruce wants to try something new ..something else. He may not have the time he did in the past for this fun stuff.

I was pleasantly unsurprised with my results.

I don't know what I can pull out of my behind for "what's next".

The postal fairy finally got done determining that my oil sample was harmless to the national security.

It's the greatest oil that never was.

About the closest you can manage is (I think) from Royal Purple. Their oil isn't a true sub 5.6 cSt oil.

This was custom blended experimental oil from a fellow member, bruce381 who is the head guru at a small blending outfit on the west coast.

There was never enough interest to have him blend up an entire 55 gallon drum's worth. I'd more or less have to purchase it and then finagle some way to get 10 or 11 people to pony up for 5 gallon pails of the stuff.

Besides, Toyota and/or Honda are coming out with their own version soon enough.

Based on old pricing, it would probably come out to about $10/quart delivered. Not too bad really. The S&H for 40lbs would be the killer out of the whole thing.
