Which oil would you use in a Smart ForTwo with the 1L L3 Mitsubishi gas engine? For warranty purposes it has to meet MB229.5 spec, which up here for a readily available oil means either M1 0W40 or GC 0W30. The 30 in the winter and the 40 in the summer? Or whichever one is on-sale...

Thanks !

GC year around for the win!!

It's a great oil, plus I personally wouldn't run a 40 weight in a Canadian winter.

Thanks for the advice.

FWIW GC is on sale this week at CT, so it's now in the sump.

I'd like to see what Mitsubishi specs for this 1L L3, in their 660cc turbo variant it's a 5w20...
