I don't have the chance to call Dave, so does anyone know if the Red Line limited slip friction modifier is group 4/5 based or not.
It certainly smells like it has mucho POE in it!!

Maybe, but it has that same characteristic "plastic-y" smell that their motor oils possess. (I guess that's the add pack I'm smelling in those??)
It is NOT the harsh, acrid, pungent Ford/Motorcraft XL-3 smell that is sooooo strong it reeks right through the sealed bottle, even when wrapped/sealed in 4-5 plastic zip lock bags!!!

My second to last jug of VP Racing 5W30 from their clearance a few years back smells like citrius gumi bears......I know it is ester's derviced from Castor Bean and I also know they have some Extreme Pressure agents that are sulfur ester's according to the label. I just know that it's base stock and additives smells like citrus candy to me or a citrus European perfume.Dever smelled anything like it!

I know the smell you are talking about because most of Redline Oils product smell the same until you get to their gear lubes.
