Look at the section starting at 2:36. Lewis Hamilton (obviously scripted) names requirements for his F1 car's engine oil, and a few molecules are shown graphically but never named. Any thoughts?

red, green, blue molecules? Sort of sounds like blue pills... LOL. I'm not sure if they're for real or if this is strictly marketing.

But judging by what he said, anti-friction additive is probably moly; improving the life - that's done by having higher TBN which can be accomplished in a number of ways really; improving high temperature handling - I guess that's where group IV/V base oils come in.

Interesting video.

I am using PP right now in my vehicle. I wonder what color its molecules are?

Eh, I think it's cheesy as heck, honestly. I was just wondering if those graphics looked like real lubricant components that someone could recognize...

I don't think oil molecules have much color, a little yellow or brown. They did look like models of branched hydrocarbons, AKA poly alpha olefins.

Thanks, I was wondering if they were PAO's.
