This particular motor has 184k miles on it all with Delvac 15w40. She was a few quarts low. It was immaculate inside. Considering this a 2001 Thomas FS-65 Chassis school bus with continuous stop and go and hard driving.

I agree, HDEO's are great oils. Those school buses definitely fall under the category of severe service.

I'm using Rotella SAE 30 in my 96 Geo Metro and she doesn't burn or leak a drop!

The OCI is usually every three-four months on our fleet. Mileage varies from bus to bus because of run lengths. But this bus is a spare so she probably gets her oil changed about 2-3 times a year. The sump capacity is 30 quarts.

My 2001 Cummins ISX takes 46 qts w filter,pull the drain plug and it seems the oil never stops!
