Paid to get TBN tested but it wasn’t on the report.
Car gets a lot short trips, 16kms round trip daily sometimes multiple times per day.

The oil was in there for about 6 months and was flushed with M1 0W40 before that fill went in.

Was flush again with M1 0W40 before refilling with 0W40 again. I'll get another sample at the end of the year (similar kms).

i would be comfortable running a 1 year OCI at the very least on M1 0w-40. it is a top notch oil.

really no need to flush with M1. that is some pricey stuff. no need to flush at all in fact. just change it and run it...

That is the biggest and most outrageous waste of oil I've heard of in a while - you flushed with M1, ran a fill 2300kms, and then flushed with M1 again, and then re-filled with M1?

Thats what, like 20L of M1 0W-40 for a 2300km interval?

Sorry man, but are you insane?

This was the first time I’ve done a sample. Wasn’t sure what to expect considering a 5/10W30 SL GF-3 is recommended. I wanted to make sure what was in the sump was mostly M1 (before the change was a different oil) and this change was just using up some of my stash. I do realise that the flush after the 2,300 interval was pointless, next time I’ll just be doing a dump and fill.

A genuine filter was used.

Good call! Your Holden will love you for not stripping the threads of its drain plug. This lubricant will treat you well and has the alkalinity reserves to last.
