Yes, a logical argument.

It's not possible to draw any conclusions regarding either oil from this set of UOAs. The engine was still breaking in at the PP UOA, or subjected to a poor filtration problem, as evidenced by high Si.

The PP 5w20 was in from 9000-14000 miles....pretty much catching the trail-ends of break-in. It performed well.

Nonetheless, the valvoline shows a solid showing.

Keep up the fine work :)

PP cleaned his engine out and made it nice and clean for the synpower, which had an easy job as a result

All joking aside, nice report. And no, you can't conclude anything between the two UOAs other then your engine is breaking in nicely.

You know what interests me about Valvoline....???? It is one of the few oils that is easily available in the US that has the VW approval. Interesting the PP doesn't have that approval. Furthermore, Valvoline Synpower 5w30 will be doing a lot of 'standard' 10k OCI's in VW's.
