Oil: Quaker State 5w-20 Torque Power Synth (previous fill was the same)
Filter: M1
Air Filter: Fram
LC used at initial fill, none thereafter
Makeup oil added: none

Oil in use for almost 8 months. Very dusty conditions last summer. One long vacation run, lotsa stop & go, lotsa 20 mile trips. All in all, I'm pleased with this run.

Also, it's refreshing to see the copper coming down as time marches on.

Agree, Tbn is quite low. Still a decent report but the oil is spent.

That TBN seems way too low for a modern relatively pricey synth.

But I guess it was in use for 8 months with alot of stop and go. If I saw this at 9000 miles, I wouldn't be as surprised.

I don't follow the OLM. 5000-6000 mile OCI's in this engine seems to be about as long as I'd want to go given oil choice & driving conditions.

Its funny....the I-4 Honda engines are real easy on oil...you can go 10k miles on a syn-blend oil, and they don't show much stress....but the V-6 Honda's beat the heck out of oil in 6-6k miles...

I agree. How many 10K runs with this V6 have we seen? Few, if any.

To me, that Pennzoil dino looks like the best value.

Keep in mind PP was run almost 40% longer then the YB. Crunch the numbers and the PP was a better run hands down

I would also bet the PP tbn would of been the same or higher then YB had it been done.

MHO of course

Value, right. Well, I bought PP for the same price as YB here in Canada when it was on sale. At regular prices, yes, I can see where the 'value' factor kicks in

If you "crunch" the wear numbers its a hands down tie. YB wins some, PP wins some. Fractional and meaningless really.

And it becomes an even better value if you pick up the YB on sale.

Not really ,the syn costs more so it has to be better!!!!!!!

With 1/2 price sales, the syn costs just a little more than the dino. I wait for the BOGO sales then stock up, usually PP or QS Synth. BUT...I do agree with the premise of your sarcasm, Steve...the dino is just as good as syn in this application. Other applications may very well show that syn will last longer, but not in this engine. 6K or thereabouts is really the limit for oil in this engine IMO.

What was the OLM at when you changed the oil?

Dunno. I never follow it, I rarely remember to reset it...
