Hot off the e-mail - a VOA of M1 10-40 High Mileage, SL/CF rated.

RON: Nothing unusual found in this virgin sample of 10W/40 oil. The TBN read 9.6, so you're starting out with a high level of active additive, and this oil should be a good one for running long intervals. No moisture found. The trace of insolubles probably should not be there, but it's not hurting anything, either. Note the 6 ppm silicon that you're starting out with. (Wonder why that's in there? According to Blackstone, it's an anti-foam agent. The last few samples of everything I've sent them comes back with a "high silicon" note. I don't live in the desert or anything.

) You'll need to subtract this from your silicon level in used oil samples to get your true silicon level.

Yep, it's the old Mobil 1 from about 3 years ago. Looks like ASL/ATM Amsoil.
