This oil was developed in conjunction with KTM and is strongly endorsed by KTM as the oil to use in the new 690 models (Enduro, SMC). Very, very different chemistry (check out the high glycol reading) with an add pack that looks like a diesel oil. Right out of the bottle it doesn't measure as a 60-weight; it looks more like a 15W-50, actually.

Quite pricey, too, at nearly $18/liter. It'll be interesting to see how it does over the manufacturer's recommended OCI of 5,000 km.

I dunno, Mola! The owner's manual specifies 10W-60, and KTM strongly recommends (but doesn't require) this specific Motorex oil to protect the unspecified engine coatings.

We'll see if the problem is fuel dilute, mechanical viscosity shear, or some other issue. Husqvarna's new thumper engine also requires a 60-weight oil. I don't know why the manufacturers are suddenly enamored with 60-weights.
