The question has been asked as to why Green Earth chose animal fat as a starting material rather than a vegetable oil. The answer is that once the fat has been processed to make the G-OIL biological base material, there is a resulting mixture of fatty acids rich in heavy materials with a longer carbon chain length, which lack the oxidation and temperature sensitive double bonds found in plant oils. The G-OIL biological base material mimics the composition of petroleum oils, which are distillations rich in aliphatic, and linear vs. ring or compound structure in the 16 , 18 and 20 carbon chain lengths with no double bonds between the carbons. Grape seed oil contains little or no 20 carbon length material, so either more additives or more Grape Seed material would be needed to obtain the desired viscosity.

Used G-OIL™ can be easily disposed of with G-DISPOSOIL™, that converts oil into soil. No more trips to the containment center.

What a load. No way this is true after it's been in an engine.

(Soylent) Green Earth oil is made from PEOPLE!!!

This is humorous. Maybe liposuction clinic-sourced animal (human) fat should be used. That should be a free source. "Fight Club Motor Oil" anyone?

It could be a new market in development. It might overtake plasma clinics as a source of spot cash for some of our economically distressed urban dwellers. No worries about their own toxic nature. Hmmm...visions of "Git yo fat blank down t'dat oil clinic!!

All right ..we've had our fun... now about animal fats in motor oil ..can the consumer market provide a decent raw material stream at an affordable price for this to work, or will it turn into one of those perks that are already used by high $$$ producers to bolster their position even further?

Like placentas, blood, umbilical chords/blood, etc..etc.

"Hey, sign up your group with the human fat reclamation exchange. It boosted our quarterly revenue by 2%!"

Yup, it will have nasties like benzene from the gasoline and lead from engine wear.
