have the intake manifold gaskets been replaced?
if not, i would run a UOA at oil change looking for coolant leak into the oil, especially if your 3.8 has the plastic intake manifold plenum
see GM TSBs Bulletin No.: 03-06-01-016
Bulletin No.: 04-06-01-017

10,000 miles is too far for me to run on just a GrpIII base stock oil.

I've seen this for many years even back when I was a Napa sales rep.

Valvoline, not my favorite dino brand anyway, has what in many cases appears to be a very different blend for Napa so they can sell it cheaper.

Oh well I don't really care.

I know nothing of this oil so I would start out at 5K-7.5K and see how it holds up then start extending

Thanks for the feedback.

I will be doing the OC with this NAPA oil later this week. Given the low city miles this car gets per year it may by 6-8 months before the 5K OCI is reached. I will post the UOA on this NAPA oil for reference later this year.

I did have the factory fill of Dexcool flushed, system pressure tested, and an oil sample tested for coolant. It appears the original nylon gaskets are still holding up with no leaks on this 3800 (L36) Series II engine.
