Just a weird observation. I have a 1984 Land Cruiser with 199k miles. I've owned it for 3 years and 50k miles and have run it on mostly on Chevron 20w-50, and Delo 15w-40. It has a very slight oil seep from the rear main area-about 1 drop on the driveway per night. It's done that since I bought it. This change I tried the Rotella-T syn 5w-40 after reading the oil porn on this site. For whatever reason, my oil leak is gone. I drove 1000 miles last weekend and when I got home I noticed the underside of the bellhousing is dry, and no more drips. Any ideas? Does this oil have a seal swell agent that might have changed the condition of my engine seals? I'm pretty happy, but wondering if my leak will come back when I switch back to Delo?
Other motor details-The engine is all original, carbed, straight 6-- 4.2 liter, 8.5 quart sump capacity. On my 1000 mile trip, I used about 1/3 quart of oil which is about the usual consumption I get with Supreme or Delo.
