this was also spec for my 74 Cuda, now it appears its a metric thread and i am spec for 14670.

14610 is the listed part number for a great number of Honda auto engines, including the V6 3.5 liter. However, I'd recommend using the 14459 if engine bay space allows, as it is the same price and has more media and better filtration specs (at least in the Pure 1 line).

No, what the OP is saying is that he needs a filter with the 3/16 threads, the 14610 and 14459 are metric 20x1.5. At least that is what I think he's saying. If you are spec'd for that filter (PL14670) than use it. I'm not sure I understand?

Actually, I've discovered that the 14610 has a little more media area than the 14459 because the 14610 has a longer can. But as you said, the 14459 supposedly has a higher filtering efficiency.

Is there a thread somewhere about the 14610 vs. 14459 discussion? I couldn't find it, but I'd like to read more about it.

I think it's talked about it some in this thread:

The 14459 has 85 sq-in and the 14610 has 95 sq-in if I remember correctly. Both use 3/8" deep pleats and about the same number of pleats ... but the 14610 is longer which make it have more media.

Actually according to the linked thread, the 14610 specs at ~105 sq-in. And, though I realize the Puro rates the 14459 more efficient than the 14610, I now feel just as confident in choosing the 14610. In this case, the outside can size can be deceiving when it comes to media area.

... I knew the info was posted somewhere. Guess my memory wasn't right after all. 14459 @ 85 sq-in and 14610 @ 105 sq-in.

Thanks for finding that link.
