Your friend should get his oil changes at the Ford dealer for the life of the truck. And if the dealer doesn't use the right Ford spec'd oil, report him.

I would say that if you think the dealer pulled that stunt it's a sign that you should go somewhere else for service. Maybe it's time for a hidden camera and a return trip by someone with a vehicle in known condition.

The engine will be happy with any certified oil. Its the trans id worry about and id get a cooler on it before towing anything.

Its normal. Its just oil seeping out of the lifters. Normally a better filter could shut it up, as a better anti-drainback may keep oil in there, but realistically what you're talking about is totally normal and not harmful in any way. Using an engi
