It's odd that the clatter would start two weeks in. I think that filter hangs vertically down low too. Did the clatter sound just like you had just changed the oil?

That what I kind of suspected. Some companies here even cheat a bit, and talk about A1 or A5 and don't even mention the B part of the spec, which isn't the correct way to do things.

Since you used a syn oil its probably ok in the protection area. Only thing is it might use a little more oil buy always good to check the level before using anyways.

I honestly can't seeing this being an issue. Suspension is supposed to conform to the driving surface.. its not like the vehicle is articulating with one wheel in the air.

There's a guy here using metal cans in what I believe is a Dastun 260z? It meets the spec of his car for sure. PQIA did a VOA on some old metal canned oil too. No issues whatsoever.
