Gimmick. I use my cordless impact for screws. It's absolutely beautiful and I can drive more than 20 3" screws without needing to change batteries.
 
I have one of those too. They are complementary.

been happy with my porter cable 20v 1495in/lb impact driver.

This is nice for more general house use, and items that require abit more delicate touch.

^^^ This. I've got a M12 impact that I love for sinking screws into wood and even light bolt work. But we also have a cheapo 4v Ryobi screwdriver that can't be beat for the delicate work. The 4v is great for things like electrical work, assembling furniture, lock installation, etc. You can dial it in to a slow speed and the torque isn't that high so it's perfect for very small fasteners.
