When I got the truck 2 years ago I did a flush and put in regular carquest green antifreeze. Now I wanna do another flush this spring and wanna use a long life coolant. Whats a good choice?

Hello, We did the research when my pal got a neglected 1997 F-150 (4.6L IIRC). We went with basic green. There were several Ford "golds" around that time but as I recall they had more to do with the company's world wide applications. Kira

If it were mine, I would use G-05 or John Deere CoolgardII which are compatible and can be mixed without issue.

Ford switched many of their engines over to this from regular green around 2001/2002 without making changes to the cooling system. It's safe for all the materials in your truck's cooling system.
