During the first interval I brought the car to the dealer to diagnose what looked like failing turbo seals (oil dripping down onto the inner CV joint). The dealer cleaned up the area around the turbo and added a tracer to the oil, and when I brought it back after about 100 miles they held a black light up to it and determined it was a loose oil return line. I don't know what the chemical makeup of the tracer was, but it didn't seem to skew the analysis results any.

What say the experts - would I be pushing my luck to drag it out to 20K?

I'm curious to know why Iron is pretty high and the rest of the wear metals are pretty low. TBN and Oxidation #s look really good. I hope that's how my gasser turns out when it comes time for analyzing.

I don't think this oil comes with moly to begin with. The first sample probably just had leftover moly from the previous oil?

patman,

Castrol uses a bit of moly in the 5w-40, VW 505 spec synthetic they blend especially for VW and Audi....
