Eneos type SP ATF to replace SPIII? - 02/26/14 07:31 PM

Napa has this for $4.50. My local Hyundai wants $8.00 a qt.

Looks like it's more specific than Maxlife or the other import ATF's for SPIII apps.

APPLICATION

Automobiles with automatic transmissions recommending ATF SP-III, SP-II, & SP-II M.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES

This fluid is commonly used in Hyundai, Kia and Mitsubishi transmission applications.

This is the closest thing I've found to OEM SPIII at about half the cost.

Eneos makes quality products, but you can do better.

I think AAP still has Castrol ATF on sale for $4, including their import multi vehicle, which includes SPIII

Also, keep in mind that SP-IV is backwards compatible with the earlier version. I like Mag 1 Synthetic Low-Vis ATF on Amazon for $4/qt. Part #64092

If you still want the Eneos, it will serve you well.

I have it in our Hyundai, and it is working well.
