Do you balance your wheels after switchover?

Before or after you switch from winter to summer tires or otherwise, do you balance them? I don't because it's fine as it is, I just rotate them. Besides it kinda kills all the sense behind this "do it yourself" arrangment, economical and convinience wise. But manual says it should be done periodically. So should I still follow the manual? If not how do I tell when it's time to balance?

when youre change rattles in the cup holder at 60-mph, its time to balance. thats how i tell.

I had them balanced seeing how they shared a set of rims. Now I have 2 sets of rims, which are both being balanced once and left until they need it again.

Right; only when tires are re-mounted on the rims do they need to be rebalanced. Unless a wheel weight falls off or for some other reason a tire/wheel goes out-of-balance.

I've never had to rebalance a tire.
