My 96 Accord has a fuel filter that does not require changing according to the owners manual. It is intended to last the life of the car. I have 160k miles on it now and I am wondering should I change it since I am very likely past the manufactures expected life. The car runs great and I hope to keep it for many more years. Or Should I just leave it alone?

Change it. ^
Many of us agree, lifetime of the warranty.. not the car.
You should go to the ATF forum, a guy with bmw changed his "lifetime" fluid and filter. It's worth seeing the pictures.
