Lab comments: We've only run a few samples from this type of

engine before so the universal averages file is still under

construction. We see nothing in our data that would indicate

an obvious mechanical problem developing in this Mitsubishi

diesel engine, though. You mentioned the possibility of a

fuel system problem but we found no diesel fuel in the

sample. The additive package and viscosity of the oil both

look okay so we doubt any significant hydraulic oil is

getting into the system. We aren't sure why its "making oil"

-- the problem doesn't show up here.

For some reason this machine will fill the crankcase to the point it will come out of the dipstick hole. No clue what is going on. It obviously not something that is happening all the time. I guess I will have to wait until it grossly overfills like that again before taking a sample. I thought the hour meter was broken but I was watching it the other day and it turns out it works. About 175hrs on the engine. I have no clue how long this oil was in there though as I didnt make note of it because I thought it was broken.. :p

The hose is in moderate condition.

What Im trying to say is, Oil has come out of the dipstick while its sitting, off. The dipstick goes right into the block, there is no tube. So in order for that to happen the oil would have to be above the level of the dipstick hole.
