Oil mfg x-ref

Is there a x-ref for oil? I am looking for info on the guys who supply Walmart / Trator supply ect. With the price of oil climbing again it would be nice to know who's generic oil will work just as good.

Just because a well known Mfg. might supply oil to Walmart, does not mean it has the same additive package as their name branded oil.

True but with many large mfg these days (of any commodity) they tend to make large batches of specific formulas and custom label them. Company I work for does same thing, 75% of batch may be $$$ then 15% $$ then 10% $....there is nothing difeerant in theses containers except for selling price and label.

I consulted to a company that tested everything they ran for quality, but never discarded anything. What didn't meet one brand's standards went into the package of one with lower standards.
