What can you say except WOW when you se results like these? Is there a better oil at any price that puts up UOAs like these? I run it in everything I have and sure hope Schaeffer has no plans to change it.

What HP 3406 is it and what version A,B, E, etc? Also what type of service does the truck see, line haul, long haul, belly dump? Anyway you cut it though, it's a great looking UOA for 30K miles. And only 1 gallon of makeup oil is great, most 600K mile engines leak that much in 10K miles

I use this oil in both of our new TDI engines. An oil with this much moly , anti wear additives, and HTHS over 4 should protect any engine. I use it also in a motorcycle that calls for a 50W

I am driving the long way home every night (30 miles instead of 12) to get this ARX rinse done asap so I can put my Schaeffer's 9000 in!

The numbers look great.

How many gallons is the sump capacity? What is the application usage (ie how is it driven)?

What are the UOA numbers from previous runs? Any comparables?

These are 10-12 gal. sumps (can't remember which). Varied runs. Probably 70% long haul. He has switched from our 7000 series to pick-up fuel economy and is beginning to go out even further with the 9000 series. No definetive comparison as most of his previous uoa's are with the 15-40, with sporatic testing of his fleet.
He will push this out to 40k at least. Similar otr rigs are going 60-70k with the 9000.

With mostly OTR long haul runs I wouldn't see a problem with 40K. I think I'd want to watch the first couple of OCI's closely to make sure that whatever mileage the customer decides on isn't too long.

3406 was a good engine, wish I could spec them in new equipment. This 3406 is better than many I've seen, and abused 3406's will make 500K+ miles. This truck should be in service for a long time.
