Honda recommends 5w20 oil at 7,500 miles or 1 year for normal driving, and 3,750 miles or 6 months for severe driving for this engine.

This is my wife’s battle-wagon: grocery runs, kids to school and everything in between, 50/50 mix of city/highway thrashing.

BLACKSTONE COMMENTS
Wear metals look great and read well below universal averages in the first sample from your Honda. Universal averages are based on an oil change interval of ~5,400 miles. Only a slightly low viscosity keeps this from being a perfect report. The low viscosity didn’t affect wear. No fuel, coolant, or moisture was present to account for the shift. The TBN read 1.9, showing some active additive left; 1.0 is low. The ISO Cleanliness Code was 15/11, very clean (for an engine). Try 7,000 miles next time. This is a nicely wearing engine that can handle the extra miles.

7k on what appears to be severe use is excellent, are you going for it?

nah... my plan is for 5k OCI; but it's good to know I can run it longer should I forget to change it right at 5k.

Nice report! I would go for 6,000 miles each OCI and retest in another year to see if that is working for you. Either way you will get long life from that engine...
