Hydrogen sponge?

Been shown before, interesting but still away's off for the general public at large.

Iceland had hydrothermal power plants; what we need are more Fission Nuclear Power Plants until the Fusion plants come on line, in order to supply power for desalination and hydrogen separation.

Molakule,
couldn't agree more on the nukes. The Indian thorium breeders look promising, offering even more fission fuel than we currently can find on Earth

Funny that per volume, some of these novel materials can hold more hydrogen than liquid hydrogen holds hydrogen...maybe part of the answer towards fusion power evevn.

this metal hydride/ovonic technology is good stuff. some of the integration they are doinginto PEM fuel cells is really interesting and will greatly improve some of their traditional shortfalls.

JMH

The lightest and most compact way to store hydrogen is in the form of a hydrocarbon, like gasoline. But the storage media gets destroyed when you burn it.
