a batch of purple in the mix master.
once again, another big name (high dollar) oil looses to the 1/4 liter transmission of DOOM!

the high Al is from the clutch pressure plate, the Pb is from the leaded fuel i use.
 
50w's are too thick for those motors IMO. We put 30w redline race in all the race bikes (ducks, 600's and mx strokers).

Today's MX THUMPERS,especially a 250f will put a 50wt oil down to a 40wt in a couple hrs. Infact a 50 weight oil might be the ticket in the summer month's,if you work a bike hard. I totally disagree.
 
40 and 50w is fine for the average consumer who trail rides those bikes and never changes the oil. But if your racing and dumping the oil after every race day like you should, then I stand by my post. Those things make viscosity with rpms and you want the oil back into the sump as fast you can. At the shop I do work for they have just found through testing that particular 30w has proved to be a good balance of shift quality, hp on the dyno, and parts protection on the race motors they build. Take it FWIW, I guess.
