Thinking about trying some GC in my 99 Accord. Currently running M1 5w30 but find the engine noisy compared to the Dino and using around 1 Liter per OCI. Was wondering do the honda's like thick (GC) or thin (M1) oil better. I will be doing a 6 day/7500 km trip in a few weeks so I don't want my MPG to suffer or the car to feel sluggish. Would I notice a dif with MPG switching over to the GC before the trip or should I just stick with the M1?

In my experiences, its best to stick to what you know works before a long trip. The GC 0w-30 is a thicker than M1 5w-30 so you might feel a bit more sluggish throttle response. As it is thicker than M1 5w-30 oil consumption may be reduced. In my 1988 Honda Accord fuel economy is excellent with GC 0w-30 and oil consumption is zero in 3000 miles. I have not run M1 5w-30 for fuel economy or oil consumption comparison.
