Hi all,

need some new tires for my '55 Stude. I'm currently running 15x7" Jaguar wheels on it, they have 205/70 Michelins that are well overdue for replacement (but the wheels and tires were $100 for all so I can't complain too much.) I don't think I can go with any wider of a tire without possible fender clearance problems, however, I'd like as TALL a tire as I could fit, as the stock 6.70s were much taller and the car is geared accordingly.

I'm thinking I'm pretty much stuck with a 205/70 as there seems to be nothing even remotely performance oriented available in a 75 series or higher. After looking on the Tire Rack the Firestone Indy 500 seems like a good option, anything else I should consider? BFG T/A?

thanks,

nate

I just got a set of Indy 500's last summer. They are leaps and bounds ahead of the BFG TA in terms of grip and stability. You may find you'll need to up your tire pressure with the 500's if thats not something you pay attention to when chaning tire types. I'll be buying them again.

Alex.
