I emailed Peak at their website asking which of their many coolants was G-05 (really..they have like 8 different kinds of coolant). This was the reply..
"Thanks for your e-mail. Yes, the PEAK GLOBAL LIFETIME COOLANT is
compatible the G-05. G-05 is a name of a formulation used in VW/Audi
cooling systems. PEAK GLOBAL LIFETIME meets or exceeds the G-05
recommended change interval of vehicles requiring G-05 coolant.
Sincerely,
PEAK Tech Dept."
OK...it's only a wee misinformation - I thought VW/Audi were spec'ing G12/G12+ in their newer cars. Anyway, notice they didn't exactly say that their Global Lifetime Antifreeze IS G-05, just that it's compatible, meets or exceeds, blah blah blah.
Why is it so hard to find a coolant that prominently displays G-05 on it's label? Can anyone confirm if the Peak Global Lifetime IS G-05. Would you actually leave this stuff in your car for it's 'lifetime'?
