My local Mercedes dealership said that I should use an antifreeze made for aluminum radiators. He mentioned that a DEX-Cool formula should be fine.
Does anyone know of a good antifreeze to use in a 5 cyl Mercedes Turbo Diesel?

Thanks!

yeah... standard white bottle mercedes coolant. orangish, but not like dex-cool in color.

usually $13-18/gal.

I personally would stay away from Dex-Brick. It plugged my heater core in my 01 Sentra.

pmwalter can you PM me on your Sprinter. We are in the market for the 118" WB van version for family and youth group duties.

Here in Dallas no one seems to want to spend the time to educate me on the weakness or benefits of the MB vans.

Thanks, Terry

Mercedes specs their dealer antifreeze for coolant use and is sold at $11 per gallon, or you can use Zerex G 05 at $9 per gallon, which is virtually identical in formulation. Zerex G 05 is an antifreeze approved by MB for use in all their engines, and is the most favorite antifreeze among the MB crowd.
