Aged spots on clearcoat

I'm trying to send off a daughter to school
and her 1991 Integra has a few 2-4 inch strips of clear coat on the hood and trunk that is whitened like old plastic.

Any products to help those patches?

Any real harm to finish just to wax over for a car going back to its first real NY winters?

I think your clear coat is fading from weather. You might be able to improve the looks with a quality polish, glaze and synthetic sealant then wax. However, it will get worse over time. This process will help in NY winters.

Yeah try a Clay bar over it,Then a Semi Abrasive Polish,Then a glaze,Then a Sealant. Should fix it right up.
