I have some stock rims from a 97 car. 3 of them are in good condition but there are a few indents in the design and the indents tarnished. Also, a few of em have something really brown in the indents. Is there anyway I can get them good as new? Is this tarnish removable or does it mean that most of the chrome wore away and that is the underlayer?
Rim #4 was newly purchased from a tire store and they recoated it i guess without prepping it right. There are tons of little pits in the indents. Im guessing these can't be cleaned but is there anyway to slow the chipping process? Because they still look pretty good unless you look close.
Also, I hear that wd-40 + fine steel wool is good for polishing chrome, is this true or is it a joke? Seems risky.
