Everything looks very good for 26k miles of use. Viscosity, and wear metals are great. Lot of makeup oil though!

Yes, I adjust for the make-up oil. CAT recommends changes every 2800 gal of fuel use with zero add oil. The high oil consumption at idle seems to be common with CAT 3406E. I do fast idle it at 1000 rpm which helps some.

Always suspected that Delvac Super was truly a great value in group-II oils along with Delo 400, this just confirms my theory, truly great numbers, very low iron count and the fact is that the filter was not changed for the entire duration.

Really impressed and thanks for posting the UOA.

A quick check shows it was actually 9 weeks.
Out 5 days and 4 nights - 2900 mi a week actual.

Sometimes it has to idle constantly. Shutting it off at Sub-Zero Temps doesnt seem prudent. The temperature range above was the engine starting temperatures.

I am considering buying a diesel fired auxillary heating system. I just cant make the math work on a Generator.

That is a decent drain interval for that oil. Is it not? What is the cost per gallon $6.50 or so.?

$5.88 + 4% Oil Tax = $6.12 if bought at Wal-Mart

$6.00 Gal in Bulk at the shop I use. Tax exempt with ICC/DOT Number.

Salesrep I run I-94/90/94 route across from MI to MN every week. Is there easily accessible shop across this route that uses your products? I used to use your products when they were available at the Bar-B in BLack River Falls WI but I can no longer get them there since it is now a Flying J.

Dealing with individual Gallon Jugs when you need 10 during an oil change is just to big a pain in the posterior.

Your numbers looks good. Are you having trouble starting at 15 degrees? Your's might be an application where the higher cost of 5W40 would pay off. You shouldn't have trouble starting at those temps and wouldn't have to leave it running. Also do you have your oil changed at a Cat dealer? They are very competitive and offer oil analysis for about $10-$12, plus they access to all of Cat's service information and data.

Stinky, the engine spins fine. I just dont feel confident in the Cloud Point of the Diesel Fuel. The fuel pump acts as a heater and allows it to run fine on 80% #2 / 20% #1 mix at -22&#176F. If the fuel in the lines is allowed to chill below a certain point it will start to plug the filter when refired.

I also sleep in the truck so without an Aux Heating System it would still run a fair amount.
